Hello Everyone...
I've been happily married to Dawn Polinski Alton, for 16 years now. I still own and run Alton Industries, Inc. We are a heavy earth moving company specializing in housing developements, golf courses, storm & sanitary, and some demo. I have four wonderful children. Shane is a civil engineer and works with me. Twin daughters - Jodie, who is doing a fellowship at UPMC, in endocrinology and Jamie, who is in Boston doing her fellowship at Mass. General, in nephrology. Cole is ten and a football fanatic. I am trying to slow down, but will never retire. We try to spend as much time as possible riding our horses all over; especially, at our summer retreat in Bean's Cove(Buchanan State Forest). Moved to Pahrump, in 2003, to get away from the craziness of Las Vegas. Working as a hospice nurse and loving every minute of it!! Married, 30 years, to David(retired USN). Reunited with my daughter, this year. Still, spend time glancing through the yearbooks... many fond memories.
Attended the 40th class reunion in Charleroi, on August 5th and 6th. A wonderful time was had by all because the committee did such a great job! Am looking forward to the next one. (Updated 8/16/05)

JoAnne Davis, 58, of Charleroi, died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005 in Havencrest Nursing Center, Carroll Township. She was born March 2, 1947, in North Charleroi, a daughter of the late Herbert and Anna Revala Davis. JoAnne was a graduate of Charleroi High School, class of 1965, and attended Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and the Weaver Airline School in Kansas City, Mo. She was a 30-year employee of American Airlines, Chicago, Ill. JoAnne was a member of St. Peters Roman Catholic Church in Itussca, Ill., for 25 years and recently of St. John's Lutheran Church in Charleroi. She briefly worked for Reese Brothers Inc. and did volunteer work at St. Alexderanix Brothers Medical Center, Hoffmen Estates, Ill. JoAnne also was a member AA in Pittsburgh and Chicago and did graduate work as a substance abuse counselor in Washington County. She is survived by her former husband, Ralph Joseph Marugg and three children of Hanover Park, Ill., Jeffrey Mathew Davis Marugg, Jordan Kristina Davis Marugg and Michael Joseph Marugg; two beloved aunts, Norma Stagi Revala and Mildred Revala Stech of Charleroi; two uncles, Edward Revala of Charleroi and Emil Revala of Belle Vernon (Lynnwood); two paternal beloved aunts, Helen Davis of Roscoe and Betty Davis of Cleveland, Ohio; and one uncle and aunt, Wayne and Ethel Davis Fowler of Roscoe. The family has requested memorial contributions be made to Mary, Mother of the Church of Charleroi, the American Cancer Society, AIDS or MADD. There will be no public visitation. Private funeral services will be held in Monongahela Cemetery. The SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME INC., Charleroi, is in charge of arrangements.

Cliff Ellis, 57, of Charleroi, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, at his home. He was born June 25, 1947 in North Charleroi, a son of the late Cleon and Wilma Cullen Ellis. Cliff graduated from Charleroi High School with the Class of 1965 and was a member of Charleroi Gospel Alliance Church, Monongahela Valley Country Club, 10th Street A.C., Slavic Club of North Charleroi and Charleroi Belgium Club. Cliff was Director of Sales for Craftmatic of Pittsburgh. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Hega Ellis; three daughters, Kyra Popp of Charleroi, Jennifer Ellis of Denver, Colo., and Alexis Popp of Tallahassee, Fla.; one brother, Robert Ellis of West Palm, Fla.; three sisters, Nellie Maise of Perryopolis, Mrs. James (Bonnie) Mannarino of Charleroi and Mrs. John (Cleo) Bisacky of Valparaiso, Ind.; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved Lloyd. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Don Aldous officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contribution be made to the Cliff Ellis Memorial Fund/Monongahela Valley Country Club through the funeral home.

Edward G. "Tank" Revala, 58, of Charleroi, died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2006, in Havencrest Nursing Center, Carroll Township. He was born Sept. 22, 1947, in North Charleroi, a son of Edward Revala, who survives and resides in Charleroi, and the late Frances Guzzi Revala. Ed was a graduate of Charleroi High School with the Class of 1965 and formerly employed with Eastern Airlines and E.D.S., Inc. He was then employed by World Kitchen, Charleroi Plant, from which he retired. In addition to his father, Ed is survived by his sister, Denise Brown and husband John, of Manahawkin, N.J., and niece Katy Brown. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. The fortieth reunion was a special time for all who attended. Thank you to the committee for your hard work. Bill (1963) and I both enjoyed catching up on the news of fellow classmates. If any of you are ever in San Antonio, please give us a call. For those of you who haven't attended a reunion, please try to make the next one. Although we have traveled all over the world, going home to Charleroi has always been a very unique and special experience... "our strong band can ne'er be broken". (8/10/05)

I sold my pediatric dental practice in Feb. 2008. I am still working part-time(3days/month)for myself, seeing patients on a referral basis for dental surgery in an ambulatory care center. We've bought a house in Corpus Christi, TX and expect to move there in the summer of 2009. (08/14/08)

I am currently in Northeastern, PA, where I live with my wife, Leslie and son, David. I have a private dental practice and specialize in pediatric dentistry and dentistry for people with disabilities. I went to Ohio State University, before going to Temple Dental School. I entered the Army Dental Corps, in 1972 and retired from the Army in 1992, as a full colonel. My children are Jason 30, Adam 25 and David, a junior in high school. My interests are woodworking, racquetball and travel. (Updated 12/2/04)

You all did a fantastic job planning the reunion! I really enjoyed the casual atmosphere and the chance to walk around and talk to everyone, both Friday and Saturday. To all my classmates that made it to the reunion, I enjoyed seeing and talking to everyone. (9/19/05)

UMBEL, William R. (In Memoriam)
William R. Umbel, 57, of Bentleyville, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004. He was born Jan. 6, 1947, in North Charleroi, a son of Robert T. and Irene McDonald Umbel of Bentleyville. Bill was a graduate of Charleroi High School with the Class of 1965. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves, serving with the 429th Engineers Unit in Uniontown. Bill attended Grace United Methodist Church in Coal Center and was a member of the Independence, Eagles, Polish and Lithuanian clubs and the VFW, all in Bentleyville, and the Brush Creek Sportsman's Club, the PA Grouse Futurity Association and the Waynesburg Moose. He owned and operated Penn's Grouse Kennels in Bentleyville. In addition to his parents, Bill is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, William J. and Kimberly A. Weinzen Umbel of Bentleyville, and John R. Umbel of Fayette City; two grandsons, Caleb Hunter Umbel and Jacob Morgan Umbel; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Robert L. and Rosanne Layne Umbel of New Freeport, Richard C. Umbel of Miami, Fla., and Jeffrey M. and Kathleen Nutt Umbel of Fallowfield Township; nieces, nephews and cousins; and a loving companion, Janis Qualk of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating clergyman will be Pastor Dan Owen. Interment will be in Maple Creek Cemetery, Fallowfield Township.
