Hi all. I am looking forward to seeing this list grow. Boy, I'll be the first one to say, "have we been out of this school thing long(?)". You can find me working at California University of Pennsylvania, as the Director of Payroll and needless to say, I've probably waited on some of your kids. I have one son and three step-sons and five step-grandchildren. I hope to retire to Florida, in about 7 1/2 years.
I have been trying to locate, Paula Henry. So, if any of you classmates know of her whereabouts, please advise.

UPDATE 9/23/05: Ahhhhh, here we are in Florida. We've been coming down this way since 1998, but moved here permanently on 08-29-05 and just love it. We have a house in Seminole and a condo in Madiera Beach. I love retirement, but haven't ruled out work completely. My son, Vance lives in Osprey Florida and I have a step-son (and family) who live in Tampa. Two other step-sons and their families; one in Manassas, VA., and one in North Charleroi. Won't miss the cold weather one bit, but did leave behind some fond Mon Valley memories. Stay warm and healthy everyone and drop me a line once in a while... or better yet, come'on down for a visit. |

Some of us march to the beat of a different drummer and ignore the norms of society. I guess I am one of them. John L. Henry Jr., 50, of New Knoxville, Ohio, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001. He was born Dec. 19, 1950, in Charleroi, the son of Clara Henry and the late John L. Henry Sr. Survivors include his companion Johanna Alger; a son, Dave Lee Roberts, and a daughter, Tamie Henry, both of Charleroi; a son, Christopher Henry of Wisconsin; and a son, Jack Henry, and a daughter, Jane Henry both of Knoxville, Ohio; and four grandchildren. Private services and interment were held at the family's convenience.

Someone forwarded the Charleroi link to me and I was impressed with the amount of history and other information it contained. I was surprised at the number of classmates that are now deceased, several of them were very good friends of mine. As for me, I have been married for 24 years and have 3 children. I moved to Eugene, Oregon, 20 years ago and am employed as a facility's manager for a local high tech firm. Life here is good and we enjoy easy access to the mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Still have lots of hobbies and spend most of my time with the local church and family. God has blessed my family and me with peace and contentment. What more can I say? (6/2/06)

Paulette B. Lawrence, 56, of Van Voorhis, died Monday, March 28, 2005, at 10:25 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. She was born Oct. 31, 1948, in Washington, Pa., a daughter of the late Paul and Julia Nicholas Lorenz. Paulette was a member of Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church in Monongahela and worked in the laundry room at Mon Valley Hospital. Surviving are five sisters, Vi Morgan of Charleroi, Jenny Bennett of Lorain, Ohio, Helen Zarlino of Streetsboro, Ohio, Julia Michaux and husband Paul of Van Voorhis, and Joyce Baltich and husband Brian of Charleroi; a brother, Leo Lorenz and wife Mary Ann of Van Voorhis; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a sister, Shirley Ann Dryer. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 31, in the GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 724-239-2191, 619 Main St., Bentleyville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, April 1, in Transfiguration R.C. Church with the Rev. George Chortos as celebrant. I just happened to stumble onto the alumni site. I lived in Charleroi, from 1965 To 1968. I went to St. Jerome's Catholic School and Church. I can still remember ole Father McKever and Father Lutz. I now live in Cape Coral, Fl... but to me there will NEVER be another Charleroi. I miss and love the ole town. I had some Great friends up there, who I will NEVER forget. I'm also a big Steeler fan. I have lived in Pittsburgh since we graduated, except for two years in New York City. I married Andy Peitzman, from Philadelphia. We have been together for 28 years. We have four children, Elizabeth (23), Jonathan(21), Emily(19), and David(16). I just went back to work as a nurse at Presbyterian Hospital UPMC on a trauma floor, after staying home for twenty years with my children. Kids were the best thing that ever happened. My husband is a general surgeon and a trauma surgeon. I think about CHS often and have great memories. I live around the corner from Jimmy Guttman, but I rarely see anyone else. I am living in Ohio, after traveling the country supervising the construction and operation of various nuclear power plants. My wife of 13 years and I developed a 128 room-assisted living complex, where I think I may need a room. We currently are developing an 84 unit condo complex. Recently, I had been asking about our class and was told about this site. I have two daughters, Robin, who is local, and Dana, who resides in Pompano Beach, Fla and then there is Boomer, my grandson- my joy, my life. I had to retire at age 45 for medical reasons, from Citigroup, Inc. I was a corporate auditor and my territory was the U.S.; so, those times were quit busy and interesting. Today, my husband, Joel and I have a very calm life. I enjoy my grandson's sports events (baseball and football) and I sing in the church choir. I also enjoy camping, reading, and emailing friends.
