Hello, to all. This is so much fun! I love finding this web site. I have lived in Ft. Lauderdale for 25 years. Retired from American Airlines and raising a creative 10 year old with my wonderful husband of 13 years. I am heavily involved in charitable work in my community for homeless children. I teach a self-esteem program to Broward County schools. I have a ministry of lecturing on women's issues of health and healing. My life is a blessing! I am very sad to hear about the loss of so many classmates. I would love more information. I will make every attempt to be home for our 30th.

Well, where do I start? I left for Florida, just a few weeks after graduation and I've been here ever since. I married, had two children... Matt, 28 and Amanda, 25 and now, I have a beautiful 9 y/o granddaughter, who is the apple of my eye. I divorced awhile back, but finally met the man of my dreams, Richard. He has made my life complete. We travel quite often, both domestically and internationally, in part because of my work. I cannot believe it has been 30 years. I am married to John M. Blozik. We moved to Alabama, in 1987- transferred here by U.S. Steel. John works as a consultant for them. We married in 1997 and have five children between us. My stepson, John David, is 35 and and is a manager at U.S. Steel, in Fairfield, Alabama. Scott, my second stepson, passed away two years ago, at the age of 32. He left us with two grandchildren, Nick 7, and Sissy, 6. They are the light of our lives. My oldest son, Thomas, graduated from UAB Medical School and is a resident in internal medicine at Baylor, in Houston, Texas. My youngest son, Jeffrey, is living in Maryland and works in construction. My stepdaughter followed in my footsteps and is a registered nurse. I live in the country and have seven dogs, eight rabbits and a cat. I should have been a vet! Hope to hear from some classmates.

Have lived in California, for the past 20 years. Self-employed, design/import (furniture/interiors). MBA in international business. Always threatening to go back to law school. Have supported the National Innocence Project (New York), California Innocence and now, LAEP/Life After Exoneration Program (Berkeley based grass root's organization), since the late 90's. Never could stomach injustice - social or otherwise. At current pace, most likely will be slugging it out in the California prisons/courts in my 60's and 70's. A good way though to take my final curtain call. Hobbies include travel (international, whenever possible), non-fiction, cooking (had to quit "Cookbook of the Month" Club when I ran out of shelf space), all of PBS and the Amazing Race (looking for a partner willing to jump out of planes). I have been with US Steel(25 years- 5 years from retirement) most of my adult life, at the Clairton Plant... however, I did spend three years at the Gary Plant, Gary, IN(97 to 00). I was married in 1975, separated in 1997, divorced in 2002 and remarried in 2002. I had three children from my first marriage- Randy, Jr.(25), Kristi(19) and Kelli(13). My lovely wife Debby, is from Houston, Texas and she brought to our marriage three children, as well- Chris(27), Josh(23) and Ryan(12). We reside in the Elizabeth area and I am currently the President of the Elizabeth Borough Council.

UPDATE 9/1/04: I became a grandfather for the first time, on August 30th. My son Randy and his lovely wife, Crystal gave birth to my granddaughter - Summer Lynn Shelton. I met and held her in my arms last night for the first time - what a little sweetie! She was born at 11:04 am and weighed 7 lbs. 10 ozs.
UPDATE 9/30/05: Left US Steel after 25 years to become Plant Manager for Guardian Industries in 2004, but hated it. Joined AK Steel in September, 2004. Living in the Ashland, KY area. It reminds me of the Mon Valley with a twang. |

Well, I didn't graduate; some of us had to follow a different path through adolescence... but some of you might remember me. All has turned out well. I am single, no children and own 4 spas in the Caribbean. Life is good.
UPDATE 6/3/04: I just flew into Miami airport and in the process of getting my rental car, my cell phone rings. On the other end is Armeda Carcella. I haven't seen nor spoken to her in 27 years. We find out we are 30 minutes away from each other and make plans to meet for dinner that evening. I don't remember what I had for dinner, but our converstion closed down the restaurant and continued in the parking lot until after midnight. I have thought about Armeda, many times since school days and she claims the same about me. We didn't socialize that closely in school, but I find it so interesting we both have held this special bond and deep feelings for each other. I think even as adolescents we recognized and admired each others strengths. Sometimes we never really know how we touch each other's lives in life, but Armeda and I now understand thanks to this website.
Due to geography and our busy lives, neither of us will be at the class reunion. However, I hope all of you have as wonderful an experience reuniting as Armeda and I had.

After graduation, I worked various jobs(security guard, auto parts delivery, grocery store). At age 32, I went back to school(California State University of Pennsylvania) and obtained a B.S., in Gerontology and an M.S., in Community Agency Counseling. I worked as a Drug and Alcohol Therapist, for 4 years. The past few years have been spent taking care of some health problems and getting back into shape; this, includes losing 120 pounds, in 13 months. I've always kept up with my passion for the martial arts and coach at a local gym, in the Mon Valley.

After being married for 20 years, I decided to go it alone, spread my wings and become a commercial airline pilot. Did my flight training in the Southwest... although ultimately, my love for animals and flying did not mix. So, I decided to go back to school to get my degree. Married to fellow '74 grad, Brenda Simala. No children. Employed by, Agway Energy Products, as a sales person. Brenda is currently acting dean at the Community College of Allegheny County and is a professor in the computer science department, at the California University of Pennsylvania. She is also, working toward her PhD, at the University of Pittsburgh. I know what you're thinking... I married out of my league!!!!! Nonetheless, I hope we can put together a 30th reunion. Take care. UPDATE 6/3/04: I've been in the construction business for the past 25 years. We are one of the largest fence contractors in Central California. I also have coached high school football for the past 12 years. I am the offensive coordinator and running back coach for one of the large high schools, here in town. I love the action. |
