Rickey Altemara, Castle Shannon
Rickey Altemara, 50, of Castle Shannon, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2008. He was the son of the late Yolonda and Ralph Altemara. Rickey was an associate member and served on the board of directors for the Castle Shannon Volunteer Fire Department. He also enjoyed being a member of the Pittsburgh C.A.R.S. Club. He is survived by his wife of 24 1/2 years, Debbie, and was the beloved father of Anthony and Rachel. In addition, he is survived by seven siblings, Louis, David, Carl, Ralph, Mary, Amy and Ann; and by Don and Joan Smith, Sharon Vietmeier and Lisa Smith. Visitation will be held Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME INC., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills (412-655-4501). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, August 18, at 10 a.m. in St. Norbert Catholic Church, followed by interment in Jefferson Memorial Park. www.jeffersonmemorial.biz

Unbelievable how time is flying by. I graduated from Robert Morris University, in 1982, with a B.S. in Accounting and Management. I fell into the insurance industry and have been here, for the past 21 years. The last 14 years, I have been the branch manager of Invesco Insurance Services, in the Forest Hills section, of Pittsburgh. In college, I met my sweetheart, Debbie and we were married, April 7, 1984. We have two beautiful children... Anthony(13) and Rachel(10). I am married to Mark Hazy, another '76 alum. We have 5 children... Karen(20), Michael(18)-both attending Slippery Rock University and twins, Carly and Joe(16), 10th graders. We adopted Noah(7), two years, ago. Mark teaches Industrial Technology and Computer Drafting, at Grove City High School. I had been teaching reading at the elementary level, but decided to stay home(once again). My parents have moved to Grove City and as they age, I find they need more of my attention.

I have lived in Rhode Island for fifteen years. I am married, wife Barbara, with two children, Brandon, age 13 and Baylee, age 10. I also have two yellow labs, Buddy and Bela. Now working for Austrian based Swarovski Crystal, as Director of Sales for the Americas (US, Canada, Mexico and Latin America). Married for 19 years. Over the last 12 years, our family has been involved in missionary work, in different parts of the United States. The experiences we have encountered, have been very humbling for our entire family.
