I attended 2nd Street Elementary, Jr. and Sr. High thru the 11th grade, in the Charleroi School District, until I was dragged away (kicking and screaming), when my family moved to Florida. I've had no contact with PA folks, since Christmas of 1948. Fortunately, I recently found Ruth Krutz Diechler, on Classmates.com. I am retired, after 45 years of nursing. My husband and I will celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary, in April of 2004. We have four children and seven grandkids. I would be more than happy to hear from and communicate with anyone, who might remember me.

Thanks,
Joyce Hamilton Waters

HENDERSON, Alberta E. (Claybaugh) (Circa 1922) IN MEMORIAM
IN LOVING MEMORY

Alberta passed away on October 24, 1997, in Central Florida. Born and raised in Charleroi, Alberta's spiritual and psychological connection to the town and her many friends and acquaintances remained strong throughout her life, no matter where her geographic moves took her over the years. At one point, she and her husband, Leslie "Pinky" Claybaugh operated the former Household Appliance, located in the 600 block of Fallowfield Avenue, in the 1950's and 60's, where the actress Shirley Jones, as a pretty and quiet little girl often would accompany her parents on shopping trips. Later in the early 60's, Alberta moved to Orlando where she worked for several years as a school teacher utilizing her teaching degree from California Teacher's College before retiring. An avid reader and seamtress, my grandmother had strong opinions regarding politics and just about everything else in life. Regardless, a soft spot was always evident for those who looked.
